This video is great, and the artists is great. All the hints and tips here are correct and make a lot of sense, unlike most videos of this type on youtube. The work is very clean and crisp. Some people have nothing better to do than give guys like you crap for uploading videos, they need to get real. Thanks

Just my 2 cents, I respect his work, but is my opinion that for 40 + yrs the line work is not consistant and/or solid, would like to see more of his work.

it’s great to finally find a shading video with a closeup and good audio. I have questions…He used flats to shade, but what kind of tattoo do you recommend using rounds for? Also, was the shading done with all black, no grey wash???

Nice work…Very Nice to see the true artists at work. These guys complaining are probably jail house tatooists and have nothing better to do. We need to keep computers out of prisons…

WOW that was awsome … i have been on here for hrs trying to figure out how to shade… been a artist i though it was different but i use the same shading style puling away and lifting .. i feel that it gets me that better shade then trying to change to a different pencil … thank you very much … great art … great work … more video’s ….

  21. INKSHOTTATTOO says:

you forgot the plastic barrier on the spray bottle

  22. justinchrist762 says:

I gotta agree with overbidder, here (kinda). Before you show people how to tattoo, you first must show them that you KNOW how to tattoo and this video doesn’t show that. The linework, shading and color are…to put it nicely…not very impressive. Many beginner tattoo artists these days can easily surpass the quality of that tattoo without any guidance. But so long as he’s not charging anyone for the lessons, no harm done. Gotta keep up with the time’s or be left behind, Jim. Learning>teaching
